Cinemin Swivel Multimedia Pico Projector is what will probably make your day. Depending on your decision you will either love this product or hate yourself. Take the big time projectors and put them in your pocket.

An impressive little device in every respect. Easy to use plug&play type of thing. You can plug yourself in from Youtube, iPods, iPhone or whatever very easily and you face the thing at the wall, ceiling, little spider walking around the nearby tree and you’ll love it.

The Big problem though, is that it requires a small amount of ambient light. In dark environments it’s quite sharp, but a big bright room might give you some trouble. Leave that behind though and you come across the impressive sound that comes out of the little thing.

A minor complaint that could have been dealt with easily. There’s very little information about the configuration. Other than how to charge it and a sample configuration there’s not much to read about it.

Today the ViewSonic PJD6531w WXGA Wide DLP Projector. True HD resolution, again BrilliantColor technology which is always nice, good colors and high brightness. A projector designed for table-top use and is perfect for classrooms or other such presentations.

The good brightness makes it cope well in any environment which is what you want for a business meeting for example. The native wide resolution of 1280×800 again makes it good for classrooms and the such. It also provides excellent sound support and good image quality.

But, when used for movies and the like you will require very high quality recordings to begin with. It comes close to replacing a plasma TV but it just isn’t there yet. So there you have it, this is great for any kind of presentation you might want to make.

The big downside is that you’re probably not going to like watching movies on it. And there are better choices out there. However you can’t expect one item to do everything for you now, can you?

The Optoma DS317 2600 Lumen SVGA DLP Multimedia Projector… I’m starting to hate these long names that don’t mean anything. Anyway, on to the business at hand. A multimedia projector with good quality and user-friendly interface. This would sum it up rather nicely, no?

The brightness and contrast levels are very high, and they combine it with BrilliantColor Technology. The supposed lamp life is a little more realistic this time. They advertise 4000 hours, and low maintenance costs to boot.

The good things about this article. The quiet fan located on the side makes it less of a nuisance and more of a show, really. It has easy menus, is very bright and the rapid shutoff takes it off your worries instantly.

The bad things revolve around it’s limitations. The picture may not be as sharp as you’d expect for the price. You can’t adjust the image size, which is very bad. As you can see, apart from the inability to adjust the image size it’s a good all-around product that is highly appreciated by the people.

This article is the 3M Pocket Projector MPRO120 .33LBS. As the name states, this is a pocket projector. It’s battery operated which makes it cost effective if you use rechargeable batteries, which come with the product, and it allows you to watch videos and images on almost any wall you want.

These images can come from computers and other mobile appliances like smartphones or digital cameras. The size of the images supported ranges from 8″ to 50″. It also has some speakers for sound but they’re not impressive.

In the box you get a number of things. Cables and a protective bag, rechargeable batteries and a sweet table-top tripod which makes things easy on you. All these with a one year warranty. The neatest thing about the whole deal is that it fits in your pocket.

Battery life lasts around 2-4 hours. The LED lamp life supposedly goes to 20.000 hours, though you shouldn’t expect it to go that far. The cool things about this are the affordable price and the plug&play ability.

The LCD Video Projector is a top of the range projector which includes a multitude of tasks at which the machine performs at an above average level. For such an affordable price this is not something you should pass.

On the first hand it’s great for gaming, offering support for every type of console and impressing with a good quality image thanks to the LCD technology which produces 16.7 million colors, with Picture-in-Picture capability, TV Tuner and 1080i. Its native resolution is 800 x 600 but can be extended up to 1920 x 1080.

On the other hand it’s compatible with cable, Satellite, HDTV and Blue Ray greatly improves it’s usefulness. It has a lamp life of about 6,000 hours so it’s also a sturdy piece of equipment.

This type of projector does not necessarily cost a lot of money, you can buy a decent one at about 400$, but if you’re willing to pay an extra buck you will find one of the best quality image you will ever see.

The Optoma PK301 Pico Pocket Projector may sound funky when you say it out loud, so be prepared for some funky information about it. The Pk Pico pocket projector provides projection power per se.

A native widescreen that will impress you with it’s size is probably the first shock you’ll have with the PK301. Featured to go to 120″ but it caps at about 100″. But this is more than enough as the picture quality is astonishing.

It’s predecessor, the PK201, had issues concerning focus, while some units don’t present this kind of problem there’s a fairly large chance that it will. Compared to it’s predecessor, the PK301 does admirably.

One most notable drawback to being so small is the even smaller on/off button which makes it hard to put into position. And another solution to this problem would be a remote, but you don’t get one. However you might find a way to go around this problem if you use HDMI.

The Vivitek D825MS 2600 Lumen SVGA is a portable high performance DLP Projector. This is a rather interesting device, sporting a few features that might give it a couple more points over other products.

First of all let’s talk about the portability. The measures are 11;8;3.5 inches and it weighs around 6 pounds. This means that even your child could carry such a small device with no problems, though I wouldn’t give it to my child if you know what I mean. It also comes with a nice security lock.

What it does for you. For one you get good quality picture and a bright image to boot. The Texas Instruments DLP tech combined with BrilliantColor make the image crystal clear. A 2200:1 contrast ratio with the 2600 ANSI lumens is good enough considering the long 4000 hour lamp life in Eco-mode.

The cool thing is that the Vivitek DLP Projector comes with a 3-year warranty for parts and labor, an astonishing one year warranty for the lap and 5 year warranty for the DLP chip. While you shouldn’t be worried about the DLP chip or the parts, one year warranty for the lamp is one deal you don’t get anywhere.

The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8100 is a rather expensive home theater projector. If you’re thinking about spending well over a grand on a home theater projector this is your hing.

Although it performs very well in terms of color and picture quality. A contrast ratio of up to 36000:1 ensures fascinating dynamics and clear motion picture, which is necessary or watching sports and other such events.

With 3 LCD’s and 3 optical chip engines you can expect a rich output of colors and effects. High definition performance combined with HDMI connectivity allows you to entangle all of your devices to a single remote.

However, the bigger nail in the coffin other than the steep price is the lamp life. You get a 90 day guarantee for the ultra efficient E-TORL lamp that is supposed to last 4000 hours. Well beyond amazing is the fact that after less than 400 hours your lamp will most likely go down. And if you think about the average time you spend on it each day, that will probably happen just after your 90 day guarantee wears off. So bear this in mind if you want to risk it for the biscuit.

This summary is a comparison of different reviews between The Sony DHG-HDD500 60-Hour High-Definition Digital Video Recorder and the TiVo TCD648250B Series3 HD Digital Media Recorder.

Right off the bat the Sony gets a few points for not having any monthly subscription fees as well as no equipment rental Analog cable compared to the TiVo. On both items you have fast forward, slow motion and all that so there’s really not a big difference there.

The Sony comes equipped with a guide but it’s not such a high quality one. For instance it populates the list by entering the current day and the next weeks same day when you leave it powered off during the night. So it takes a week for the list to be populated and it isn’t as useful as you want. On the Sony you can’t put a keyword and record the shows that contain the keyword, a function called wish list on TiVo.

This is where the discrepancies lie. The Sony simply doesn’t compare to the software you get from TiVo. On the Sony, if you record a repeating show every week you can’t tell it to keep the last X and delete the rest. The TiVo has this and more. Also the Internet connection makes it easy to keep the TiVo up to date with the latest upgrades, whereas with the Sony this is impossible.

All in all, from what we’ve seen on the Internet, the TiVo HD Series 3 is far superior to the Sony HD DVR.

Today we’re going to take a look at the highly appreciated TiVo TCD648250B Series3 HD Digital Media Recorder. This thing here has actually won an Emmy award for the highest quality picture and sound.

You get high quality home theater entertainment in an all compatible form. Delivers all-digital connection for your premium digital cable channels in full HD format. CableCARD decoders that you can get from your cable provider ensure you will be able to use HDMI for video and SP/DIF for audio.

High-end display, premium quality sound and what you really need is just a subscription to TiVo service. Unfortunately the DVR doesn’t function without a subscription. While it delivers top quality detail in both picture and sound, ensuring a completely unbridled experience, the cost may come too steep.

It is also quite good looking and an astute addition to any decor. It also has a black, slim remote control that makes TV configuration a breeze. This is quite a liberating extra little thing to round up this article.

We will be discussing the following three Samsung products: Samsung LN46C630 and the Samsung UN46C6300.

In terms of screen size, both equal 46 inch screen size. It is also notable that both support full HD 1080p resolution. The Samsung LN uses a special 120Hz Auto Motion Plus to sharpen the images while the Samsung UN uses 120Hz Clear Motion Rate. This similarity will be seen in almost all aspects.

The 120.000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ration on the Samsung LN is equally matched by the Samsung UN LED backlighting technology. A 6300LED Ultra Clear Panel and the Charcoal Grey Touch is what makes your jaw drop when watching the UN. Even the standard definition on both these TVs is almost HD quality. While your jaw drops for one your eyeballs fall for the other.

One thing about the Samsung LN is the auto brightness adjustment. If you put it in a very bright room it will still cut out glare with no picture degradation. But the brightness adjustment makes it return to a automatically defined setting which might be inconvenient because it is quite difficult to override it.

In conclusion, these two have fairly similar performances. Both have everything you want on them, with a slight inconvenience in the LN. But considering the pricing of these items, the more expensive 1600$ Samsung UN doesn’t have too much to offer for the extra 500$. The Samsung LN does a perfectly good job totally worth 1100$.

Find out what we think is the best PC based DVR considering what we’ve found on the Internet so far. After a careful study of a number of reviews and articles here’s what we came up with:

Our contestants for today are the CM-7000PAL, the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 and the TiVo TCD746320 Premiere.

At first we were inclined towards the Channel Master 7000PAL since it has good quality, it can record on-the-air shows, fast forward and slow motion what you want and you can also schedule recordings for when you’re away from home. Not that the others can’t do this. What sets this apart is the nifty remote control unit that operates in a lot of different angles and can control up to 3 devices at once. Kind of makes you think about HDMI. This product scores a moderate price at 350$.

The Neuros Recorder 2 keeps things easy for you. If you’re not a mechanical person then you’ll really like this one. It also gets you mobile with your video. You can the stuff you record from your cable and take it with you on vacation. This is really handy if you often go on voyages. While it’s cheap, you should find it around 100$ the real downside is that it has no storage room. While the thing is cheap, storage space isn’t.

And last but not least the TiVo Premiere. We’ve talked about this one before and although it’s quite expensive, probably around 500$, it’s much better than the others. It still features the trademark TiVo function: multitasking. You can record up to 2 shows while already watching a third. It also has slow motion, fast forward and the like. And it also lets you put all your stuff on a laptop or iPod and take it with you wherever you go.

In conclusion, while at first we liked how the CM-7000PAL looked, ultimately we think the TiVo Premiere is far superior to the other two but the steep price might make you turn to one of the other two products we listed.

This article represents a summary of the reviews we found on the net about some of the top TiVo TCD DVRs series.

Starring the TiVo TCD649080, the TiVo TCD746320 and, last but not least, the TiVo TCD652160.

A look at the perks of each item:
The TCD649080 scores as another good product from the guys at TiVo. The most notable feature of all TiVo products is the ability to record 2 shows at once while watching a third. Talk about multitasking, this is as far as you probably want to go. Also, you can schedule other recordings when you want to go away on vacation or something. Compared to other TiVo products, this does well in terms of storage space. It can record up to 80 hours of HD programming. This one is also the cheapest of the three. (150)

The TCD652160 is a more delicate and smart choice. Also capable of recording 2 shows at once while you’re watching a third, but also lets you play those shows in slow motion, you can rewind them, play back all the while retaining the true HD quality. However, the downside is that you can only record 20 hours of HD shows at a time. As far as the price is concerned, it’s almost double the first one. (300)

Last but not least, the TiVo TCD746320 Premiere. As can be expected, this one also allows for the recording of 2 shows at once while watching a third, and also has slow motion and instant replay live TV functions. You get access to a vast Internet library through Season Pass, which we found out is pretty useful. One thing to set the TiVo Premiere apart is the good audio quality combined with access to Live 365 as well as your own music library. The downside is that it’s the most expensive.

Conclusion:
In the order of quality over price, the best is without doubt the TCD746320 Premiere, but it’s around 500$. Then come the other two, and depending on what you like, lower price and more storage but slightly lower quality or high quality, low storage and twice the price.

This is a summary of the reviews we found on the net between the 3 major Sony BDP series Blu-ray DVD Players: The Sony BDP-S570, BDP-N460 and BDP-S360 respectively.

First the all-around specs:
Each of these items let you reach the internet through BD-Live with your Internet connection. You can connect to your favorite Internet entertainment venues such as Youtube, Netflix, Slacker, or Facebook. Though unlike the others the N460 model uses BRAVIA Internet Video platform to reach the respective providers.

Just about every Sony device has a quick startup and these 3 make no exception. Fast boot-time of 6 seconds but the S570 gets ahead of the others in terms of audio/video streaming over the Internet.

Now for some of the differences:
Compared to the S570, the picture quality on the older S360 is superb, whereas the S570 has decent quality for Blu-ray and DVD. The best of the 3 is the N460 because it supports Dolby TrueHD and dts HD codecs, and even if the S360 also supports the same advanced codecs it almost rivals the former mentioned N460.

Another issue is DVD upscaling. All 3 are supposed to do this but you get the best quality from the S360 and the S570, while the N460 has quite sluggish quality and may sometimes look out of focus.

One feature exclusive to the S570 is the Gracenote that shows some extra information on the title but resets the movie to the start position, so it’s not necessarily the game-breaker.

Conclusion:
While the S570 may be better than the N460 in some respects, consider the fact that the N460 is about a quarter cheaper. The S360, being the cheapest, can’t really compare but does a surprisingly good job nonetheless.

The AVerMedia MTVUHDDVR Avertv HD USB Digital Video Recorder records up to 1080i, in component and analog video through S-video/composite. Also has a quick user interface for USB 2.0 that gives you the ability to connect to your laptop or PC instantly.

HDMI output allows you to get your cable, video camcorder and gameconsole altogether and tie them to a single remote to get very easy access to all your devices. HDMI also lets you capture high definition quality on all your devices so not only is it efficient to use all your devices on one remote, it also means better quality.

The AVerMedia DVR is supposed to have low CPU consumption but awkward software makes it consume a lot of resources while recording. You can also convert HD content that you recorded into iPod, iPhone or generally portable media compatible format.

To conclude, here’s what some of the customers think about the AVerMedia DVR:
3.0 out of 5 stars: Good product, bad software
June 29, 2010
By Edward Shaw
This review is from: AVerMedia MTVUHDDVR Avertv HD USB Digital Video Recorder (Electronics)
The hardware is easy to install. The software is not user friendly. It is very awkward to use. It also uses a lot of PC resources when recording. You can only use the provided software. There is no 3rd party software that can recognize it.

Next up, the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 Digital Video Recorder might be the thing you want due to it’s trademark ability. This baby helps you get mobile with your video. It simplifies the process of getting stuff onto your handheld by a lot. If complex stuff is what’s keeping you away from video on a small screen, not you’ve got yourself covered.

Compared to it’s predecesor, the Neuros Recorder, this one has higher quality videos, more user-friendly menus and it can take a Sony Memory Stick handily. The ups and downs of this thing pretty much revolve around easy use, wide range of formats to ease up encoding and it can be scheduled to record while you’re on vacation. The downsize of not having a hard drive isn’t such a bad thing, you probably already have one too many storage devices lying around, but the compressed video only makes it suitable for small screens.

As far as the design goes, it’s small, shiny, silvery and black. This makes it just what you need, a blend in any environment. Nowadays most systems come in black, so this should fit right in. In the front you have little lights and buttons with which you control the thing. And audio/video connections are made in the back. All in all a sleek little device for a little over 100$.

The Moxi 2-Tuner 500GB HD Digital Recorder let’s you get the best out of the Internet, your PC or your cable provider and put it directly on your HDTV. With no monthly DVR subscription fee you get access to one menu that let’s you do all that was listed above.

For a DVR it has a huge hard drive. Storing up to 500 GB which translate into as many as 75 hours of HD recording, or 300 hours of SD recording. But this isn’t really enough, well you can expand to up to 6 terabytes, meaning more than 1000 hours of HD shows recorded on an external drive.

The Moxi 2-Tuner comes equipped with 3 live HD TV tuners, the standard program guide, a whopping 1000 hours of HD recording with an external drive and CableCard support to help you get rid of that cable box. All this comes with no monthly fee, like I said, which is pretty nice.

All in all I consider this a good product. But, here’s one negative thing about it, your HDTV probably scored about 1000$ or more, and this costs an additional 500$ or more, this makes for a pretty steep price to get HD recording.

This is a small media player that conveniently allows you to play your favorite media on your big TV, provided you have one. 2 USB ports allow for external storage and an Ethernet port connects you to the Internet in a promising way.

Also, to make things easy, the Netgear Digital Entertainer also has an HDMI port giving you control over all of your devices through a single remote. Internet access is also provided without the use of a computer, you can watch stuff from Youtube or whatever directly on your TV so everyone can enjoy the experience.

The Zinwell ZIN-5005HD “ZinTV” 3-in-1 Networking-Ready 1080p Full HD Multimedia Player/Streamer/Torrent Downloader, Free Internet TV/Radio, Black. This is probably the most descriptive and longest title I’ve ever seen. These guys are promising you so much you’ll forget if it misses half the features it says it has. Though if I were to name it, I’d probably quote Carlin “a classic, deluxe, luxury, prestige, high quality, premium, select, gourmet i don’t even know what this is”.

Anyway, for such a pompous name it better live up to it. And it doesn’t; full HD movies 1080p resolution, you don’t have to install anything to make it record up to 720p resolution, supports a whole lot of video and audio formats. You can play stuff on it from you iPod, USB devices, DVDs, CDs and everything.

That sounds great but here are some customer reviews all saying there are better choices.

1.0 out of 5 stars: Works but there are plenty of better choices, June 5, 2010
By Jacob Chavez (FL, USA)
This review is from: Zinwell ZIN-5005HD
Won’t see my wireless. I hooked it up wired, and it will see my network, but fails to log on. I hook up my external hard drives to it, and it will play dvd image files fine, unless they are blu-ray. They play, but it seems there is too much information for it, because after a few minutes, the sound will crackle, then stop. The movie plays on, but no sound. If I pause it, I can get sound again for a couple seconds, but then it does it again.
If it was just regular DVD image files, it works fine, but it is suppose to be an HD player, and Blu-Ray is HD. It will not work with Blu-ray image files.
And the internet radio/tv stuff is a joke, it took me like a century to update the firmware and still shows logon fail message.
one star for some media player basic features, but there are plenty better choices (some of them are even cheaper).

And one more:

1.0 out of 5 stars The product is a joke, July 5, 2010
By Eric Majewski “Review Busters dot Net” (Pittsburgh, PA)
Everything this product says it does is a lie! Nothing on it works at all and trying to set it up is a real headache. I don’t want to waste too much time on this thing but I will leave you with this little note about it. The customer service hot line, which you will need to call since this thing doesn’t work, is a direct line to a guys house. Yes you are calling guys house and he was trying to ask me some shady information, but left it at “call me at the morning…at some point…*click*”.

So pompous name, not so pompous performance. I hope this helps you make a better selection for yourself.

I’ve named this review CM-7000PAL which is actually short for Channel Master CM-7000PAL Digital Video Recorder, because the name was a little long. Anyway, on with the review. This is advertised to be the first DVR offered by Channel Master. Well I don’t care if it’s the first or not, I’m just happy if it does it’s job alright.

As a DVR in itself it showcases a few of the important features you want. You can record your favorite on-the-air shows, you can fast-forward them, slow them down with the delightful slow-motion function. Pretty much all that you want on a DVR.

It even features an electronic program that allows you to schedule your recording so you can catch up on your favorite shows even if you’re away on vacation or something. This is quite nifty considering that there’s no monthly subscription fee, unlike so many other DVR’s.

The CM-7000PAL also includes an infrared remote control unit, one last but not least handy feature to round up this overall good product. This remote controls the DVR and up to 3 other devices at the same time. Not really close to what HDMI does but good enough nonetheless.

Here we have Bob, the average electronically challenged man. He’s thinking about buying a digital video recorder but there’s so many of them he’s totally puzzled by the choices. He’s saying “there’s TiVo’s and Roku’s and ASUS I’m not sure which one is the best”.

Well I’m also not sure about the best, but if you want to make a smart choice the TiVo TCD652160 HD Digital Video Recorder. Why is this a smart choice, you say? well apart from being able to record 2 shows while watching a third, which is the trademark TiVo feature. You can also play back, rewind, pause, slow-motion all the interesting moments in your favorite TV shows while maintaining high definition quality.

This is what it’s all about. Record up to 20 hours of HD shows or choose mediocre SD quality for a duration of up to 180 hours. While you can only record 20 hours, you can actually store it in your PC so it’s really unlimited. Altogether this is a great product to be considering.

Compared to other TiVo products this one does similarly well in terms of quality and recording time. The TCD746320 Premiere comes in black color, which is the most notable difference between them and the TCD649080 Dual Tuner records for up to 80 hours compared to this choice. These are all fine products and you will probably be happy with any of them.

Nowadays lots of people like to create a constantly growing archive of stuff we really like. These things include movies, music, photos and documents which we store in different formats and locations. The ASUS O!Play is a TV HD Media Player and it’s purpose is to help you easily sort and pick whichever you want of your archive articles right to your TV.

The beauty of this all is that it retains high-definition quality. The ASUS O!Play is designed to support full 1080p HD resolution and realistic audio value. This wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it weren’t for the wide format support, multiple connection options and playback in an elegant and modern fashion.

The ASUS O!Play supports full HD and multiple output sources through HDMI. HDMI has been the analog solution to all other forms of broadcasting, radio frequency, composite video and the like. With HDMI you support any format of digital data, compressed or uncompressed through just one cable. A neat deal.

With this baby you can now make real time H.264 recordings at 1080i resolution. The HD-PVR also allows you to schedule the recording of your favorite shows in HD from cable TV or satellite set.

Perhaps one of the nities features of the HD-PVR is the ability to convert your old video tapes to Blu-ray DVD quality and format via the S-Video inputs. This gives your old library an elegant new look.

This is the PVR that will make you say “at last a high quality high definition personal video recorder”. Your new archive will look tens of times better than your old library without even losing the broadcast quality.

Also the WinTV scheduler is easy to use via the included remote control that let’s you set up to automatically change TV channels and schedule your recordings. This kind of convenience is enhanced by the audio/video loop that enables you to watch and record at the same time.

But aside from the usual internet streaming in your own home, you get HDMI, AllShare it’s really nice to use your PC as the source of your movies and all that, but you can even use your telephone. That’s really creative because say you go to your friends house and he has this thing and you want to show him something from your phone. Well now you can stream it and watch it in high quality like it’s meant to be seen.

Also BD-Live let’s you stream so much more than what’s on your Blu-ray disc. With BD-Live 2.0 you can change the content of a disc even after they’ve been shipped. And the mechanics are really simple: just connect to the Internet and voila, you can get any image, subtitle, movie or whatever you want in an instant.

Scores an 7 inch widescreen display, is easy to use thanks to the unusual remote you get on top of this thing. This little remote saves you a lot of trouble with controling the various functions. For a cheap portable player this really means big usefulness.

Pretty decent resolution: 480 x 234, the audio output isn’t as great as you’d expect. Most customers would like it to go just a bit louder. You can expect 1-2 years of lifetime before you’ll need another one which is pretty good for a cheap portable player. All in all a good purchase.

The LG 32LD550 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV scoring full HD 1080p resolution is just another of those. It’s a great product and all; full HD makes for excellent picture quality, TruMotion 120Hz tech means as little motion blur as possible. You’ve seen it all over and over again.

So what sets the LG 32LD550 apart from everything else? well for one there’s the super fast response time. It’s really quick; technically it’s 2.4ms, really it turns out at a few seconds. While that’s great if you want to connect to 1080p wireless you need what’s called a wireless media kit which is sold separately.

A 150.000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is good enough to provide bright luxurious colors for a cool experience, but for 800$ or so this doesn’t seem to cut it. Dolby Digital decoding and up to 4 HDMI output sources, you’d still be pretty happy.

To make up for it you get Netcast access. As usual the best Internet venues like Netflix, Pandora and so on with no computer intermediary required. But who doesn’t have a computer anyway nowadays?

The Panasonic VIERA TC-P50G25 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV is a new product built from the 2009 award-winner Plasma line and it features NeoPDP tech that not only sharpens up the colors but it also provides good equilibrium between black and white contrasts. The new panel also meets low-end energy costs while maintaining the 1080p high-definition resolution and picture quality with high contrast for bright decor.

The G25 line offers the improved but otherwise classic VIERA Cast functionality to enable you Internet video and audio capability. The 600Hz Sub-field Drive makes for impressive motion clarity and, combined with the HDTV wireless video conference center, you can play back a variety of movies, pictures and music for your own, personal pleasure.

HDMI allows you to control a multitude of VIERA devices, be them Blu-ray Disc players or digital cameras, with a single remote. VIERA Cast means you can stream movies, TV shows, music and anything else you can think of like Netflix, Pandora and Youtube in addition to the Skype compatibility so you can keep in touch with the top Internet entertainment sources from the comfort of your couch.

And while all this is happening, true to Panasonic environment attention, the TC-P50G25 meets the new Energy Star 4.0 requirements with ease. If this wasn’t enough, the Plasma panel is said to live up to 100.000 hours before the gama decreases to half the original value; that’s more than 30 years worth of watching 8 hours per day.

Blockbuster, Facebook, Youtube and many more.

But getting movies isn’t all of it. You can share pictures, shop or catch up with your friends online and there’s an extra wireless LAN built-in. In addition, AllShare enables you to stream content from your PC or even telephone and see it through your TV.

The 15-second disk load and similar boot-up time you can say that the BD-C6500 is quick but not exactly smoking. Other Blu-ray players boot up in as quick as 6 seconds but this shouldn’t really be an issue.

As for performance, scoring HDMI, high definition 1080p picture quality, full screen fast play and a 1GB memory this thing packs some punch. You can even upscale your older movies to give them near HD quality.

Blistering picture quality, action leaping off the screen with the help of advanced 3D technology provides a truly deep viewing experience.

Internet TV lets you connect to all the major entertainment portals. You can access facebook, youtube and many others
and with HDMI capability you can do all this in the blink of an eye and connect through your various devices from one remote. The 240 Hz Clear Motion Rate ensures that even the fastest onscreen motion will be delivered with life-like clarity.

The innovative LED backlight sky-rockets HD to a brand new level. The greatest range of dynamic contrast results in brilliant design with a slick and elegant touch of color consisting of bezel accent in order to bring new ideas to your environment. Just like every advanced TV in this era, it also has Game Mode, which will enhance and optimize your experience of games. This monster also exceeds ENERGY STAR 4.0 standards. But while all this sounds great the steep price of over 2000 dollars might impair you from purchasing such a thing.

At 46 inches and a 120.000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ration the picture quality is so astonishing you won’t believe your eyes when you see it. Scoring a special Samsung Auto Motion Plus 120Hz it virtually eliminates blur and each and every scene is sharper and crisper than anything you’ve seen before.

Being so large you’ll feel like you’re in the cinema, but it won’t work in every home. you should have at least 4 meters of space between yourself and this HDTV.

The LG BD570 Network Blu-ray Disc Player supports full HD 1080p output through HDMI, has a 1GB memory and a wireless NetCast network for Youtube, CinemaNow and others. The LG BD570 is compatible with the new Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD ensuring superior audio quality in 7.1 channels. To boot, this Blu-ray player has a quick 6 second boot and instant tray opening allowing for fast access to all the networks like Netflix.

Compared to other Blu-ray players this has a rather large 1GB storage capacity and the Cinema mode, working at 24 or 60 frames per second, is no thing to joke about. Audio performance is good but not really something to brag about. The new codecs Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD are both supported and this ensures as good quality as you want.

The up scaling for DVD is superb, the image quality is truly impressive. Also DVD playback is nothing fancy but takes care of the blue haze you see in some digital product. This is very cool to have as the Netflix HD movies stream perfectly.

HDMI is an interface for streaming uncompressed audio/video data. It is the signature replacement to radio frequency, composite video and all the other standard analogs. HDMI supports standard, enhanced and high-definition video for up to 8 channels which you can all control through one remote.

The Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player is precisely what you’re looking for if you like to watch movies on the road. The wide screen display has a high-resolution and scores 9 inches so it’s pretty large. The battery hangs for up to 6 hours at a time and the batteries are conveniently rechargeable. The cooler features are the the flip screen with an 180 degree range, the long battery duration and it’s available in more than one color.

There are 2 headphone jacks in the DVP-FX930 so you can easily share with your friends while in a car or on a plane. It’s also equipped with a remote control which works from varied angles courtesy to the dual sensors on the player. Even better is the car adapter; you can plug in the car adapter to make sure your player lasts no matter how long the road trip.

More cool features are included. For example you can resume a DVD right where you left off the last time. Audio/video input/output also makes it a standard DVD player for your TV. The set-up is really easy to do and gets you running in no time. Also the rechargeable batteries are included in the box when it first comes to you.

Here is what other customers feel about this product:

This review is from: Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black (Electronics)
Great product from Sony. I tend to do quite a bit of “research” on products of this nature before I finally make a decision and this model was highly rated across multiple sites and got a big thumbs up from CNet. I am very pleased with this DVD player and do not know how my parents ever traveled more than an hour without one!

This way music and video is under your control right from your iPod or iPhone. It also comes equipped with a 24P playback function for 24-frame DVD and Blu-ray Discs. In order to completely immerse in 3D games it has Game Mode, and a very wide viewing angle which all results in clear, bright images.

The X2 line all offer Panasonic VIERA image for slide shows of Jpeg’s, which coupled with the VIERA Link feature you can control a variety of compatible products – Blu-ray Disc players to digital cameras – all through one remote. Panasonic is committed to meet the Energy Star 4.0 requirements and the TC-L32X2 makes no exception. Adhering to Panasonic’s commitment to the environment, this VIERA model–as well as all 2010 models–features improved power consumption and meets the new, more stringent Energy Star 4.0 requirements.

For standard TV’s, viewers will feel comfortable watching from 3 to 6 times the distance of the screen size. HDTV produces much better resolution that you can sit twice as close and still not notice the pixels. For such a low price you get all this with few reasons for complaint. The base will collect dust quite easily and will require constant maintenance and the set-up might not be as easy as you would like.

Compared to the Samsung BD-C6900 this one supports Dolby TrueHD and dts Hd audio for 7.1 channels. Another benefit over the Samsung player is the faster startup of about 6 seconds. It also comes with a slick, black design that provides almost the same look as the Samsung BD-C6900.

While the Sony BDP-S570 is probably better in some respects the N460 player is almost a quarter cheaper than it’s counterpart. One of the bigger problems is the poor playback on Netflix. Compared to the Roku HD player it’s noticeably not as crisp and not very sharp.

Also the up scaling of DVD’s to HD quality is a bit sluggish and can sometimes look out of focus. One solution could be to remove the HDMI connection and using 720p component, however this might not work as good as you would like.

Samsung BD-C6900 1080p 3D Blu-ray Disc Player is a Blu-ray DiscPlayer that makes you dive into the experience as the action seems to pop out of the screen at you. The superior picture quality of full HD 1080p is made to optimize resolution for a better experience.

As with all new Blu-ray Players you can get Samsung apps like Youtube and Netflix so you can stream videos, games, music and pictures. It also has Wi-Fi so you can access your pictures and music from your PC wireless. One notable feature is that you can stream apps just from your Samsung Blu-ray Player.

The slim, black design has a nice modern look to add to your decor but it isn’t exactly spectacular. Be that as may be, the fast boot-up and load time takes 8 seconds to boot, 11 seconds to load and about 20 seconds to load a BD-Java Blu-ray title and as a 3D player it does what it’s supposed to do but no cigar there.

There’s one dent in the product though; the player is compatible with 2D TV’s and with HDMI 1.3 receivers, but to enjoy the full extent of the audio and video capabilities you need a new HDMI 1.4 with audio/video receivers. Other products like Panasonic Blu-rays offer 2 HDMI outputs so this problem is efficiently dealt with.

One of the bigger feats is the access to various entertainment venues through your internet connection, such as: Youtube, Netflix, Slacker and others. With Blu-ray and Wi-fi capability you can also save them to watch them later faster than ever before because you can tune your iPhone or iPod into a remote control by getting a free app.

Compared to the Sony BDP-S360 player it’s a fine all-around basic machine with no frills. The picture quality is superb and anything you put on it should work with no problems. For those of you looking for low loading times, small wait times, great sound and picture quality then this is perfect for you. You can even turn the lights off when it’s on to watch a movie in complete darkness.

The Blu-ray and DVD players are ok, decent as with all the new players. However it has a new feature called Gracenote that shows some information on the title but it will reset the movie to the start position, so it’s not necessarily gold. All in all it’s a good player with nice sound quality and decent features.

Panasonic DMP-BD65 Blu-Ray Disc Player is an ultra fast HDTV with a 0.5 second boot time. BD-Live and Panasonic’s Viera cast features for accessing Internet video content thanks to the Ethernet port and wireless LAN. The DMP-BD65 includes a USB port as well as Secure Digital memory card slot, both of these ensure easy access to watch and share digital HD video with a wide variety of disc format compatibility. Panasonic’s VIERA Link function allows you to control multiple audio/video devices via HDMI with only one remote.

The key features of the DMP-BD65 are the high quality images through the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus technology, the high definition Dolby Digital Plus audio decoder that uses the 7.1 channel surround sound newly incorporated in Blu-ray Discs. Also of notable importance are the VIERA Link that utilizes HDMI to allow control of multiple components through one remote and the SD memory card slot featured to enable you to watch your movies and photos taken from digital cameras and camcorders. The Panasonic DMP-BD65 has Energy Star certification The BD Players were designed to limit packaging waste through a slimmer and more better design and to lower power consumption.

HDMI is a small and compact audio/video interfaced designed to transmit uncompressed data. An alternative to the standards such as coaxial cable and component video, HDMI supports any TV or PC video format, from standard to high definition on a single cable. You can use up to 8 channels of audio input and a Consumer Electronics Control connection.

The Blu-ray Disc players call the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus to action. This is high level image processing technology that provides superior clarity and colors in tandem with the original film. Blu-ray Disc players further compliment the HD audio codecs by featuring 96kHz surround re-master, a function designed to enhance the sound quality even on multi-channel audio data.

Sony BDP-S360 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player can decode the most advanced audio codecs and comes equipped with full HD 1080/60p as well as True Cinema output. It is also BD-Live capable with your Internet connection. Dts-HD and Dolby TrueHD are fully compatible for up to 7.1 channels of high-def sound and it even has a fast start-up mode which operates in about 6 seconds from power-up.

One of the cooler features of the BDP-S360 is the icon-based user-friendly Xross Media Bar interface system. This enhances the speed and fluidity of navigation through the menus in a fun and friendly system. DVD up scaling HDMI technology makes the already easy interface even better as you can connect multiple devices through the same remote. Also it will upscale your DVDs to near HD quality in the blink of an eye.

In the past audio codecs used forms of compression that removes the sound data to transmit audio from the disk. This translates to you hearing a subset of the original audio, not even close to the quality you began with. Newer formats allow for audio compression to come through without the audio being discarded and this is exactly what Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD do.

Through BD-Live technology permits the streaming of additional scenes, trailers or other sources of content and with BonusView you can also enjoy selecting Blu-ray titles. The quick start of the Blu-ray actually means it begins operating in about 6 seconds after you power up your Sony BDP-S360.

Compared to the Panasonic DMP-BD65 it’s just as good if not a better product since you can still connect to your household network and to the Internet through Ethernet port and the superb sound quality make this a fine choice.

The Roku HD Player is equipped with everything you need to quickly and easily install and start watching right away. The standard red, white and yellow cables, Wi-Fi and Ethernet are both available and with wireless remote batteries the low cost and easy set-up make this a great choice.

Around 50 thousand titles are currently available from Amazon and many of those come in HD. Even better quality audio and video can be achieved by using your Roku with your HDTV player or home theater. All you have to do is look for the Roku digital video player with premium cable pack.

But this is where the Roku truly shines:
Wired or wireless, your preference.
The Roku is easy to connect to the Internet through most broadband providers. With at least 1.2 Mbps you can watch movies instantly on Roku digital video player with rather decent quality. The faster your connection, the better the quality with a peak at about 5 Mbps. Both the Ethernet port and the Wi-fi provide an easy connection.

You can connect to virtually any TV with easy control.
This player has everything you need to connect right away. There couldn’t be a better example than the standard red, white and yellow cables. Also, HDMI is available and it provides an even easier way to control up to 8 different components at the same time.

Here is what some customers think about the product:
This review is from: Roku HD Player (Electronics)
This little box rocks. I have killed of all but my local channels on cable. This may have been the best $99. I have spent in years. My sons and I use it everyday. At first I was concerned about content, but there are like 12000 things to choose from…We have watched season 1,2 and in the process of season 3 of Heroes. You have no idea how cool it is to see shows like this with no commercials. Tons of movies to choose from. I really like the fact that the company has more than delivered on what they promised. I bought the box to add to my Netflix and now I can get amazon video on demand as well, and it didn’t cost anything for the upgrade. How often has that happened…I am getting a ton more than I paid for. LOVE IT.

Samsung LN40C630 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV runs on 120 Hz Clear Motion Rate technology. This allows you to watch quick action with a smoothness way better than what other TV sets have to offer. You can also sync up your entire household with the AllShare feature. A wireless DLNA connection that lets you stream PC video/audio just with your remote.

The LN40c630 offers Full HD resolution so that you can enjoy the stunning picture quality with the smooth texture and color that compliments well in most environments. The smoothness of Samsungs Clear Motion Rate is certainly better than what you would expect from a regular TV set. The huge 40 inch screen size is a nice touch to the beautiful charcoal gray colored design.

You can connect a digital camera very easily. Thumb drives are also compatible with the ConnectShare Movie. The user-friendly interface allows for quick and easy access to videos and music. The LN40c630 also has a game mode that enhances dark areas and sharpens the edges to provide optimized environment for gaming systems. Another cool feature is the AllShare which allows you to synchronize your entire household. This really comes in handy if you have cameras, multiple PC’s or laptops.

One last great thing about the Samsung LN40c630 is the sweet sound quality the DNSe provides with closer to natural effects than more conventional methods by remaking the “genuine” stereo sound. Let’s face it, this is simply a great all-round TV that excels in smoothness and colors and is good enough for any purpose.

Here’s what some customers say about this product:

M. Shaffer says:
3.0 out of 5 stars. This TV is not compatible with the Wii
This is a perfectly fine TV, but it is simply not compatible with the Nintendo Wii. There is a noticeable lag during gameplay. While the TV has a Game Mode feature to address the issue, it only works with game systems connected with an HDMI cable, which the Wii does not have.

The Sharp LC19SB27UT 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV is a widescreen TV with a relatively stylish look. A powerful LCD performance panel provides the high contrast and brightness which certainly make the Sharp LC19SB27UT a pleasure to watch. It also features ATSC/NTSC tuners for off-air broadcasts as well as digital cable capability for finely tuned digital cable programming. This high definition TV has a distinctive foot print and it’s also a versatile monitor as it is PC compatible.

The LC19SB27UT offers HDMI input for a convenient connection to digital devices. HDMI stands for high-definition multimedia interface and it is a small audio/video interface suitable for sending uncompressed digital data. It is an alternative to the standards such as radio frequency and composite video. As an uncompressed connection, HDMI doesn’t require any digital TV standards, like ATSC, as these are basically compressed MPEG streams which can be easily decoded on HDMI.

Before I’ve mentioned ATSC/NTSC tuners. ATSC actually means a set of standards for digital television transmission. Initially only HDTV services were launched in digital format but today they also include SDTV. Actually ATSC replaced much of the NTSC television system in the USA but in Canada, for example, NTSC is still the prefered system. The ATSC tuner is what actually allows the reception of ATSC digital television signals.

One notable feature is the PC input which actually turns your TV into a PC monitor. The advantages of an LCD monitor, besides size, are the low power consumption, very compact and light design with no geometric distortion but the limited viewing angle and high contrast and brightness which dramatically varies with the viewing angle, coupled with the slow response times might make this a good but not great solution for your PC.

In today’s market the rear projection TVs are a popular choice over the Plasma or LCD TVs because they offer a high quality for almost the same space and most importantly for less money.

Today’s rear projection TVs are all high definition displays and deliver great quality on sizes bigger the 42 inches in diagonal.

What you need to know about specs when choosing the best rear projection TV?

The most important thing when you choose a RPTV is the aspect ratio. Aspect ratio defines the proportion between width and height of the screen. A 4:3 aspect ratio is encountered at the old TVs and are 16:9, wide screen is now more popular. Since most movies made in the last decades were recorded in a wide screen it was obvious that at some point 16:9 aspect ratio would be the standard.

Resolution is another aspect to take into consideration. A high definition image is usually a wide screen display with 1 million pixels. From 768p (1366 width by 769 height in pixels), 720p (1280 by 720) to 1080p or 1080i (1920 by 1080) are all HD resolutions. Having a bigger resolution translates into a sharper and clearer image, but you have to know that there is not a big difference between these.

Viewing angle plays an important role. You don’t want to move a little to your right to take a soda and the image would be gone? While most displays (not only RPTVs) suffer in the vertical viewing angle, the horizontal is more important and with a 180 degree angle you should be fine.

What about video input types? These ranges from lowest quality to highest: Composite Video, S-Video, Component Video, VGA, and DVI to HDMI. The more input types your RPTV supports the more flexible it will be and you’ll be able to watch video from any device.

So, what is the best rear projection TV out there? In my opinion only Samsung and Mitsubishi can compete for this title. For the purpose of this analysis I choose the Samsung HL72A650 and the Mitsubishi WD-73737.

Samsung HL72A650 72-Inch 1080p Slim DLP HDTV is a 72” widescreen HDTV with an elegant design, super slim and lightweight it can be installed in almost any room in your home. This RPTV supports the highest HD resolution: 1080p and it Cinema Smooth Light Engine offers an amazing image quality with 3D ready technology and a wide range of color which is simply breathtaking.

Here is what a customer review says: “The use of the Dark Chip 3 is not really the whole problem by itself. The problem is that at some point Samsung decided to remove the iris from their lamp DLPs light engines. An iris is used on DLPs to deepen blacks on the fly as the screen changes. Perhaps this deletion was done to make the LED DLPs more competitive against the lamp set. The net result is a TV that is very good in most every way except it has poor contrast and black levels for a TV at this price point. Excellent black levels and contrast are typically a given for DLPs.[…] “If the blacks were at the level of current Mitsubishi DLPs or even the Sammy bulb sets of a few years ago that included an iris, the HL72A650 with its accurate color and excellent resolution would deserve 5 stars plus. As it is, I can only give it 3 stars. If you mostly watch movies, than 3 stars might be a stretch.”

Another customer seems to be very satisfied with his purchase: “I just upgraded from a 1 year old 65 lamp projection HD set from Hitachi (which was great for a lamp projection) and was blown away! HD DVDs and Blue-Ray takes on a whole new world with this set – and was a STEAL for the price! Takes up much less space and along with the stand (I purchased this also) fits perfect with tons of space for the players and more.”

What about the Mitsubishi WD-73737 73-Inch 1080p 120Hz Home Theater DLP HDTV. From my experience I can say that this is the best rear projection TV available on the market today.

This 73 inch RPTV offers a vivid viewing experience in a 1080p resolution, 3D Ready using the Smooth 120Hz Film Motion technology which offers the best image even for the fastest scenes from games, sports or movies. For enhanced display, brighter colors and whiter whites this model also incorporates a 6-Color Processor that processes and produces images with six different colors, instead of traditional three.

Here is what people are saying about this amazing product: “This TV is great. I was looking at LCD and DLP TVs, and the DLP offer bigger screens and the same great picture at a lower price. HDTV, Blu-Ray, DVD, etc all look great on this TV. 1080p resolution is amazing, I have an older 52 inch HDTV, which displays 1080i and this DLP looks 10 times better.”

And here is another review: “Just bought a 73″ 737series a couple of weeks ago. Was considering 65″ but went with the 73″ – GREAT Decision. The picture is fantastic – even my wife who isn’t into TV very much thinks it is great. The price of the replacement lamp is not significant every 2 – 3 years when you consider the quality and price of this TV. If you have the room for it I highly recommend this TV – Great value.”

While you can get the Samsung for about $2500 on Amazon and a used one for something around $1700, the Mitsubishi price revolve around $1999. The conclusion: the best rear projection TV is the Mitsubishi WD-73737.

Many people would like to make the transition to a LCD flat screen TV. You probably spent a while browsing around the internet in the quest for finding the best features at the right price for LCD TVs so you know what you get before buying and make the right decision.

With this guide I hope you will get some hint on how to evaluate the best LCD TVs in the market. Today I picked the 42 inch LCD TVs for my review.

The LG 42LH40 simply rocks with its 42-inch diagonal, widescreen display, 1080p resolution with TruMotion 120Hz that offers clear view without glitches even for high speed scenes.

Many LCDs have problems keeping a smooth image when displaying sports or fast paced action scenes. The blur effect kills the sensation but with the TruMotion 120Hz technology this is a thing of past.

Also it encompasses invisible speaker system and Clear Voice II which saves you from the annoying moments when the voice is too low for the noises in the background by amplifying the voice frequency range.

Another television you should consider is the Philips 42PFL3704D/47. At 42 inch and 1080p resolution this LCD HDTV offers a high quality picture with is Pixel Plus HD engine. Pixel Plus HD is a picture processing technology and the result is superbly razor sharp pictures with incredible details and depth from any HD source.

Best thing about this Philips TV is the price which is slightly more than $600.

Here is a customer review “I really can’t get over how well the black tones look on this TV. I feel this was WAY more than a bargain-basement TV. I would not hesitate to buy this TV, provided the features match your needs”.

Another piece to think about is the Toshiba REGZA 42ZV650U. This LCD TV incorporates the ClearScan 240 advanced frame rate technology which makes it great to watch sports, play video games or watch action scenes.

Here’s a quick excerpt from a customer review “I was blown away when I went to see it at Best Buy, and I’m still blown away by the fact that there’s one downstairs in my living room. The contrast is amazing: I just finished watching The Empire Strikes Back, and I was shocked to see Vader’s mask and cape actually being totally black!”
